This weekend

This weekend Emy and her sisters and Mom went to Ocean City, Maryland, something they do every September. I'm glad she can get away once in a while without her having to worry about me. Chad and Clint stayed with me for the weekend and took care of me. They are such a blessing to have around. They do a great job taking care of me. It was nice to spend the weekend with them watching football. Go Cowboys!!!!!!!!!!!
Sunday we went to church, our first service in the new Gap Family Center. It was good to be all together in one service. Merrill talked about change and how we deal with it. I was thinking about how our lives have changed so much in the last couple of years dealing with ALS. While I still struggle with this change at times, I know God has a purpose in everything that happens in our lives. I pray for strength to hang in there and except what God's doing in my life. All I know is one day we will see the complete picture and we will understand why these things happen.
We can't always control our circumstances, but we can control how we handle them.

Ah yes...I can hear my dad's voice in my head now. "My response is my responsibilty." Another thing I could add to this is to say that my response determines whether I am a slave to this world or alive and free in God's.

You inspire me to live free in God's reality instead of staying a slave to the dirt beneath my feet.

Glad you had some time with your boys. You are a blessed man!

Hi Gordie,

Your doing great with this blog. It is really good to hear from you on a regular basis--helps me to keep things in perspective.

I guess Emy is home from the shore by now--suppose they may have had a wet Saturday. We were also hoping to have our cuz cycle ride but had to give it up due to the rain. Hopefully next year!

Gordie we are so Blessed to have you a part of our family. You have always been so strong and dependable.
Glenn had fun on Friday eve going out to dinner with the guys when we were at the beach. It was nice to be with your wife. What a wonderful friendship we have. She is so much fun, we laughed, cried and prayed together. What a great week-end we had with our Mother and sisters.
Blessings to you!
